About Us

B D Carvings was founded in 2023 by me, and my name is Bill Durkin.  I'm retired and discovered late in life that I enjoyed power carving and have been doing it as a hobby. These pages hold some of the carvings I've created.  I have used all kinds of wood such as birch, oak, cedar, and pine. Many of my carvings become Spirit Faces. I took inspiration I found from a famous movie trilogy many of you would recognize, where the trees move through the forests and decimate hideous unspeakable human-like creatures who would hack and burn the trees for their own evil ends. I sincerely hope you enjoy browsing these pages and that you too can step into another reality and lose yourself in the faces I've created. Each is one of a kind. They make appealing, unique gifts and many can be hung on the wall or sit majestically on any flat surface. They are sure to draw many questions from first time viewers.
